POMADE
Pomade is the quintessential men's hair styling product. Made typically from a type of wax or combinations of different waxes along with petrolatum, essential oils, coloring, fragrance and many other oils like castor, coconut, jojoba, argon and almond or avocado oil. Pomade is extremely versatile, there is a different kind of pomade for every hair type, style and preference. It provides hold, control, shine, texture, scent, and health for your hair; yet all of these traits are optional.
Types of Pomades:
Water Based: Main ingredient or base is water, this kind washes out and resembles a gel.
Oil/Wax based: Main ingredient or base is wax and is made with oils, does not wash out like a water based
Matte: has very little to no shine
Light Hold: light in consistency, weaker hold, easy to apply, usually higher shine
Medium Hold: average pomade, the middle ground for hold. consistency varies, but usually nice and smooth, medium shine
Heavy Hold: thick consistency, high hold, can be difficult to apply although this is not always the case, typically less shine.
Hair Dressing/Top Coat: little to no hold, very high shine
Fiber: water based, infused with fibers for a more flexible hold, usually also infused with shine crystals to reduce the matte effect
